The Future with Tesla’s Ride Sharing Services
Do cars need a driver? What about the ‘Robotaxi’?. Elon musk, CEO, co-founder and product architect of Tesla announced at the company’s ‘Autonomous day’ for investors, to launch a self-driving ride sharing service by 2020. Musk emphasized a tesla owner can add or subtract their cars to the tesla network, making it a ‘Robotaxi’. Hence, a ‘Robotaxi’ can fundamentally be any tesla vehicle with autonomous driving functionality. Tesla looks to challenge major competitors such as Uber and Lyft. Which bring us to the question, what is tesla’s ride sharing services bringing to the market?
Tesla’s ride sharing services seeks to give opportunity to tesla owners to earn revenue, with the company’s 20 to 30 percent share, while engaged in other activities. According to study by Harvard health watch, an average person drives 1.6 hours a day. A self-driving car can drive 56 hours a week as opposed to the average 10 to 12 hours, generating more revenue than manually driven cars. The cost of riding a ‘Robotaxi’ will be $0.18, making cost cheaper than the current $2 to $3 dollars cost of ride sharing services. Reducing cost increases the quantity demand of the service, also increasing profit.
The company seeks to provide cars to areas with high demand and low quantity. With current ride sharing services, the absence of the driver means the unavailability of the car for transport. Places with inadequate supply of ride sharing services and high demand renders missing opportunity for both the consumer and the service providers. ‘Robotaxis’ prevent problems of the human resource from affecting service provision. Due to the low cost and availability of the tesla ride sharing service, demand will increase, causing the decrease in the need for drivers.
Increase in demand of a tesla self-driving service will basically lead to the increase in supply of tesla electric cars. Cheap to run and maintain, less pollution and improvement in safety are some of the advantages of electric cars. The design of the tesla autopilot is dedicated to using sensors to identify objects, reducing the risk of accidents. Most automobile companies will avert to production of self-driving upon high demand.

Is Openbay Car Repair Service really worth to try or is it just scam?
New technologies bring lots of fresh, useful and sometimes bad things to people. It is hard to tell every new technology, good or bad. Maybe they were just born to die. So What is Openbay? Openbay is a company where you can find dealers and mobile repair shops around you. You can pick what is wrong with your car, and those repair shops will send you quotes. It sounded great. But how do you trust those services? I went on their website to see and kind of warranty and I found this.
It looks good. Please wait until you hear my personal experience.
I had an oil leak in my car and I took it to BMW dealer to see where the leak comes from. So I got my inspection paperwork and I saw that oil leak was from the oil housing gasket and it was $700.It sounded expensive. So I left. I requested quotes within a few days through Openbay. Boom! I got a service quote for $382. I am like, wow, okay, that sounds perfect! They even come to me! What can it be better, right? So the guy shows up in a sedan(which I was expecting a little bit more professional. come on). Anyway He opens the hood and I ask him
-Hey I got this inspection form, but I want you to recheck it that if the oil is leaking from there and he said yes it is obvious, Then I am like
-Okay, let’s start, right?
He started working on my car and was done in like 3 hours. Then He calls me there was something in my car. I am like okay what is it he said ignition coil needs to be changed. I said fine for that too which was $225(later I learned it was only $90 labor included) So It had started shady. You never know thinking you will get things done cheaper, but it ends up costing more. So he changes that too. Later He calls me again, saying that there is a problem and I am like what this time? he says
– oil leaking from somewhere else, not from that place. And I told him that You checked it and it was right there as you said. He said, yeah, sorry, blah blah. and made my car way worse now my car is leaking oil way worse.
After all, I think OpenBay will have my back on this. I ended up calling them, and they were like no. We can not refund you. Our repair person performed the repair and I was like he did perform it. But I wish he didn’t. He just made it worse. So I ended up paying a total of $607 and my car was not even fixed.
Long story short. Sometimes you think you are so smart and beat the system. Get a lower price. But if these kinds of companies don’t get customers back, they are just born to die. Customer service is an essential part of the business. That is how you grow your business. But Openbay doesn’t seem like they care at all. However, I still have the luck to go through my bank and dispute this scam. So DON’T USE OPENBAY. DON’T PAY CASH TO ANY MECHANIC. SO AT LEAST YOUR BANK CAN HAVE YOUR BACK!
