Remove Apps From the Home Screen (Without Deleting Them)
You will have the choice to Delete App or Remove From Home Screen in a dialog box if you long-press on an app and then choose Remove App. The symbol won’t disappear from your home screen, but it will remain in the App Library (swipe left until you reach your App Library). You can always do the opposite to subsequently put it back to a home screen. Press and hold the app while you locate it in the App Library to select Add to Home Screen.
Use the keyboard as a trackpad
Did you know the keypad on the iPhone can also function as a trackpad? With this function, you won’t need to tap the screen to move the pointer more precisely or navigate to certain passages of text. You’ll need an iPhone with 3D Touch functionality (iPhone 6S or newer) to utilize it, but you can use it on any iPad as well.
To use the trackpad on an iPhone, firmly press and hold anywhere on the keyboard. When the keyboard goes blank, you can start working. Next, move the pointer around the text by dragging your finger. To engage trackpad mode on an iPad, drag two fingers across the keyboard in either direction.
Set timer for Music
Don’t you occasionally sleep off before turning the music off? Here’s how to use your clock to set a timer to end whatever you’re reading, listening to, or watching on your iPhone or iPad:
- Start the clock app on your iPhone
- Tap on Timer tab located at the bottom of the screen
- Choose the length of time
- Tap on When Timer Ends.
- Scroll down and tap Stop Playing.
- Tap Set in the upper right hand corner of the display
Receive notifications via camera flash
Accessibility may be found under Settings; press it to activate the feature. The LED Flash for Alerts toggle switch should then be set to “on” in Audio/Visual. On the main Settings panel, choose Notifications to categorize your notifications. App-specific groups of notifications can be changed for each app. You can decide, for instance, to have each message appear separately. Navigate to Notifications. Choose an app, then decide how you want the notifications to be displayed.
Measure objects with your iPhone

- Launch the Measure App
- Move your iPhone around so the device can scan the area

- Move your iPhone around until a white circle with a dot appear in the middle
- Line the white dot up with the edge of the item you want to measure
- Press the white button with the + sign
- Drag to opposite edge of item
- Press the white button with the + sign
- The app will show the approximate measurement
